My mom and I are cut from the same cloth. My friends recently pointed out how alike we were, and I wholeheartedly agree. Similar interests, similar beliefs and similar personality, down to the contagious laughing fits. Who needs a sister when you've got a fun-loving mom to eat cheese with, ride roller coasters with, and watch Project Runway marathons with?
Which makes it a cinch to buy her gifts for Mother's Day. All I need to do is look for things I'd want for myself! I rounded up 12 handmade indie items from my wish list at Uncommon Goods. But of course, the gift I selected isn't shown because she'll be reading this post. (Hi mom. Don't worry, you're still in for a surprise!)
If you remember last year's stocking stuffer guide, you'll know I love supporting this awesome independently-owned Brooklyn-based B-Corp. With every purchase, they donate $1 to a non-profit of your choice. Since they started this program 12 years ago, they've donated over $700k to charities around the world. Pretty amazing. Just knowing that your purchase helped to support RAINN, American Forests, Woman For Woman or City Harvest, is a beautiful gift in itself.
If you're lucky enough to have a mama around, are you getting her anything special for Mother's Day?
