My little 4-person book club needs a new book to read. We just finished Ender's Game. Strangely enough, we chose it right before we learned there was a movie coming out. I really enjoyed both the book and the film, but we'll probably want to steer of sci-fi this time around to switch things up. Typically, we love smooth lyrical juicy prose that makes us want to stay up into the wee hours of the night to read "just one more chapter". Who doesn't, really?
Here are the books we've read thus far, which as you can see, run the gamut...
The Kite Runner
Breakfast At Tiffany's
Eat Pray Love
Lolita
A Confederacy of Dunces
Brave New World
My Horizonal Life
The Master and Margarita
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay
And Then There Were None
Lit
Lost Girls
Water For Elephants
100 Years of Solitude (in which we collectively re-named: A Bajillion Years of Solitude!)
Little Bee
Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close
Heat
Norwegian Wood
The Prince of Tides
Ender's Game
Red Rising
(Bookies, did I miss any?)
A friend of mine raved about The Goldfinch by Donna Tarrt. Have you read that one? What other books would you recommend for us? I'd love to know what you've been reading lately!
