Happiness is maximized at 57.02 degrees Fahrenheit, 13.9 degrees Celsius. Crazy, right? That's pretty chilly. This is according to the American Meteorological Society who published a study on the psychological influence of weather.
Indoor temperatures, on the other hand, need to be much warmer. Research at Yale University found that heat, such as a long hot shower or bath, helps ward off feelings of loneliness and increase levels of contentment. We substitute social warmth with physical warmth and our brain sees little difference between the two.
I'm pretty partial to 75 degrees indoors and out. As long as my hands and feet are on the same page as the rest of my body. What do you think? At what temperatures do you feel most happy?
