After taking portraits with the wedding party, our friends walked back to the house while Hal and I stayed a little while longer on the beach.
Skipping rocks wasn't planned at all, but it seemed only natural! I am not a good rock skipper compared with Hal, who usually gets 4 to 5 bounces each throw. But I was pretty proud of myself here. I got a nice 3 jumper at one point. Maybe it was all the wedding day excitement.
We were loving our time alone on the beach, until someone glanced at their watch. The guests were arriving!
I didn't want to let go of his hand. We walked back, mostly in silence. And the occasional bout of laughter when it dawned on us that we were about to get married. The next time we'd see each other, would be when I walked down the aisle.
NEXT WEEK... the moments BEFORE THE CEREMONY.
