Ahoy mates! After the rehearsal, the wedding party and our out-of-town guests met up at Jerisch Dock in downtown Gig Harbor. In lieu of a traditional groom's dinner, we rented My Girl, a local charter yacht for a cruise around the Puget Sound. Captain Paul led the way...
We were hoping to navigate over to my parents' house to point out the wedding venue from the water, but there wasn't enough time. Instead, we exited the Harbor and traveled underneath the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and back. Here's a map if you're curious.
The boat was two stories, with a full bar on the enclosed main level, and a covered dance floor up top. Hal had an iPod's worth of bossa nova we intended to play through the sound system, but we completely forgot to set it up. Doh! You know you're having fun when you don't even notice the lack of music. For food, we had a low-key taco bar for people to nibble on at their leisure.
Funny side note: It was around this time that I realized I was wearing my vintage lace mini dress inside out! I quickly changed in the bathroom and asked if people had noticed. Thankfully, they didn't, or they were too polite to say otherwise. Ay ay ay. That's how scatterbrained I was that day.
My cutie pie parents had just celebrated their 39th anniversary.
A big thank you goes out to my big brother, Christopher, for being the official
photographer, and to AAA for arriving in a flash when he locked his camera
in the car moments before boarding!
After we docked, many of our friends went out for drinks and karaoke at El Pueblito down the street. But I went home for my beauty sleep. Tomorrow would be the biggest day. of. my. life.
Next week... the wedding photos!!
