Before Hal proposed, I told him I'd be happy with a piece of string tied around my finger. Maybe I should have suggested a paper ring by Yael Friedman. A major upgrade from string and much more affordable than diamonds. I would have been estatic to wear such a cool design.
Of course, Hal didn't believe me when I said the ring's price tag doesn't matter and made me wait years until he could afford this guy. I'm obviously glad I waited, but still. Boys and their egos.
