Awhile back, my music producer, Warren Riker, gave my EP to his friend at a major label in Europe. As it turned out, they had to pass on me because I was apparently too similar to a British girl they just signed a distribution deal with, Candie Payne. As much as I wanted to hate her, I ended up loving her since we have the same influences and retro stye. She has been likened to a modern Dusty Springfield.
Here is her song, I Wish I Could Have Loved You More, which I still listen to on repeat. The beat is killer. She ended up doing a song with the incredible Mark Ronson, but I never thought it lived up to this one.
